I recently had the pleasure of capturing an engagement session during a snowstorm—a day when nature decided to show off its wild, majestic side. The couple I worked with truly embodied the spirit of adventure, braving the chilly weather to keep their session date. Bring Hand Warmers: They’re a lifesaver in sub-zero temperatures and can keep you comfortable throughout the session.

Have an Extra Set of Hands: Whether it’s an assistant or a friend, having someone to help manage equipment or even your furry friends (if you’re bringing dogs along) can make a world of difference.

Choose a Photographer Who Thinks on Their Feet: Look for a photographer experienced with challenging climates—someone who can improvise and find beauty even when conditions aren’t ideal.
